Caustic Soda Flakes 99% (Sodium Hydroxide) is a primary industrial alkali chemical. Renowned for its extreme solubility in water and strong basicity, it is indispensable for soap making (saponification of fats), Clean-In-Place (CIP) sanitization in dairy/beverage plants, water treatment pH adjustment, and textile mercerization.
White, highly deliquescent flakes manufactured via the modern membrane electrolysis process. High chemical purity (99.0% NaOH min, Na2CO3 <0.4%, NaCl <0.03%) prevents unwanted insoluble precipitates in aqueous solutions.
Always add Caustic Soda Flakes slowly TO WATER while stirring — NEVER add water to caustic flakes to avoid violent boiling or spattering.
Store in original tightly closed moisture-proof 25kg PP bags in a dry, cool warehouse away from acids, aluminum, zinc, and ammonium salts. Caustic soda rapidly absorbs moisture and carbon dioxide from air.
DANGER: Causes severe skin burns and eye damage. Highly corrosive to skin and metals. Reacts exothermically with water. Wear full chemical face shield, heavy-duty neoprene gloves, chemical apron, and boots.
